Dari (also known as Afghan Persian) is mainly spoken in Afghanistan and by Afghan refugees and immigrants in other countries, especially in the neighboring countries of Iran and Pakistan. It is one of the two official languages of Afghanistan, the other being Pashto. Dari is also one of the two main forms of the Persian language spoken in Central Asia and Iran.
Dari and Dari Persian refer to the same language, but with a different name. Dari is the official language of Afghanistan and is spoken by most Afghans as their mother tongue. It is based on the Persian language and has influences from other languages such as Pashto, Arabic and Turkmen.
The term “Dari Persian” is sometimes used to make the distinction between the form of Persian spoken in Afghanistan and the form of Persian (Farsi) spoken in Iran. There are some differences in pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary between Dari and Farsi, although the two languages are very similar in writing. In fact, Dari and Farsi speakers can communicate with each other even if they are not fluent in the other.
It is important to note that the distinction between Dari and Dari-Persian is not always clear and sometimes the two terms are used interchangeably. The choice of term often depends on the context and perspective.
According to the UNHCR, 125,483 people fled Afghanistan in 2021 and applied for asylum in other countries. Of these, 23,276 people applied for asylum in Germany. The aim is to help the refugees as quickly and as well as possible. It is important to be able to communicate without misunderstandings. A telephone interpreter or video interpreter for Dari – German can help to maintain the quality of refugee assistance at the usual level.

LingaTel has a huge number of telephone interpreters and video interpreters for the language combination Dari – German. The Dari – German telephone interpreters and video interpreters are native speakers of the languages to be interpreted. They also have the necessary expertise and experience to translate conversations over the phone or via video. In addition, the oral “translators” are regularly and intensively tested by us personally.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we at LingaTel know what is important when it comes to oral “translations”. In addition to empathy, intercultural skills are also essential. With the help of training courses, we ensure that the interpreters’ knowledge remains up to date and that they are optimally prepared for our customers’ topics.
With telephone interpreting and video interpreting, the interpreters work from home. This eliminates long travel times and additional travel costs. The interpreting service is therefore also available spontaneously. You can call on Dari telephone interpreters and video interpreters around the clock, 7 days a week, according to your needs.
In addition to the profession of telephone interpreters, video interpreters and translators, there are also translation apps such as Microsoft Translator. These translator apps can be very useful to translate simple conversations, documents, information, data and texts if you do not have professional interpreters available.
However, it is important to note that automated translation apps do not always provide accurate results and there are often misunderstandings or errors, especially with complex or technical content.
If you have important and complicated conversations where the translation quality needs to be high, you should always hire a professional Dari interpreter.
